Hi I'm Ashlyn.

How My Personal Life Has Shaped the Way I Photograph Love

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you probably know I’ve been photographing weddings for over 10 years. I’ve captured hundreds of love stories, vows whispered through tears, first dances under twinkle lights, and all the beautiful in-between moments.

But what you might not know is how my personal life has shaped the way I see and capture love — and why I photograph weddings the way I do.

I’m a wife of six years, a caregiver, and a proud mama to a beautiful daughter who has Rett syndrome. My life isn’t always quiet or easy — it’s filled with deep purpose, real emotions, and a constant awareness of how fleeting time can be.

That awareness shows up behind the lens every single time.

I don’t take your day lightly. I know the power of a single photo — how it can freeze a moment, preserve a memory, and give you something to hold onto forever. I know that years from now, these photos might be how you remember the look your dad gave you when he saw you in your dress… or the tear your partner wiped away before your vows.

Because love isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s found in the quiet hand squeeze, the laugh through tears, the way someone looks at you when you’re not even aware they are.

And that’s the kind of love I’m looking for in my work — the kind that means something.

Being a mother and caregiver has taught me patience, perspective, and the art of slowing down to really see people. I don’t just want to show up and take pretty pictures — I want to tell your story, the way it truly felt. Because one day, you’ll look back… and these photos will remind you not just what it looked like, but what it meant.

So if you're looking for someone who sees your wedding day as more than a checklist of poses... you're in the right place.

Thank you for trusting me with your memories. It’s the greatest gift, and one I carry with deep gratitude every single time I pick up my camera.

With love,

Ashlyn
