Advice

How Long Should You Leave for Couple Photos on Your Wedding Day?

Let’s talk about one of the most meaningful parts of your entire wedding gallery — the photos of just the two of you.

These aren’t just pretty portraits — they’re the real moments where the nerves melt, the smiles get real, and your love shines through. So how much time should you block off for them?

My Honest Answer: 30–45 Minutes

Here’s why that sweet spot works best:

Gives you time to relax and be present

Lets us move through different poses and locations naturally

Gives room for both romantic and candid moments

Helps us take advantage of the best light (especially at golden hour!)

Bonus Tip: Break it into Two Shorter Sessions

If your timeline is tight, consider splitting couple photos into two parts:

After the first look or ceremony (15–20 min)

During golden hour before or after dinner (15–20 min)

This gives you variety and beautiful lighting without feeling rushed!

Plan for at least 30 minutes — and if we can time it with golden hour, even better!

Your portraits will be some of your favorite photos from the entire day.
